The appointment is part of the association’s preparations to ensure effective media coverage, content generation and dissemination before, during and after the congress.
The 2026 Triennial National Delegates Congress is themed: “Harnessing the Power of Sports and the Media for National Development, Youth Empowerment and Global Competitiveness.”
The congress is expected to bring together sports journalists and delegates from across the country to deliberate on the future of sports journalism, professional development, welfare, digital transformation and the broader role of sports media in national development.
The Media Sub Committee is mandated to coordinate content creation and dissemination across print, online, television and radio platforms, while also providing relevant and timely content for the association’s official website.
The committee will equally source and develop content around the congress and relevant national, continental and international sports issues, particularly those with developmental and elite sporting relevance.
Its assignment commences immediately and extends beyond the congress, with members expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities.
SWAN urges members of the media and other stakeholders to support the committee and the association in ensuring comprehensive coverage of the congress and its outcomes.
The association looks forward to a successful congress in Kaduna as it continues to strengthen sports journalism and contribute to the development of Nigerian sports.
