ManRoy, Tantita Donate 18-Seater Bus to NUJ Warri Chapel

…Gesture will enhance journalists’ mobility, says NUJ Chairman

MANROY Global Services Limited, in partnership with TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited, has donated a brand-new 18-seater bus to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, to enhance the mobility of journalists in the discharge of their professional duties.

The presentation, which took place at ManRoy Global Services’ office along the DSC Expressway in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, was witnessed by the Ovie of the Great Idjerhe Kingdom and media veteran, HRM King Monday Obukohwo Whiskey, PhD, among others.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of ManRoy Global Services Limited, Mr. Collins Okorie, said the donation was borne out of the company’s collaboration with the NUJ and its operating partner, TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited.

Okorie said the company considered it necessary to support journalists with a vehicle that would facilitate their movement and enable them to perform their duties more effectively.

He said: “You know, in society, without journalism, information will not be disseminated”.

“So, you are an important part of society, and without you there is no society. Same with us, there is no society. Once again, welcome you all.”

Also speaking, the Administration Manager of TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited, Princess Daisy Jaja, said the gesture was in line with the company’s policy of supporting the NUJ and assisting journalists with mobility, particularly during official assignments and events.

According to her, the provision of a bus would make movement easier for members of the chapel, as they would be able to travel together instead of using different vehicles.

She said: “It’s always very hard to get pockets of people in different vehicles. But if they are in their bus, they will go together and come back together.”

Jaja noted that TANTITA had enjoyed a cordial relationship with the NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, recalling that the company had also built a befitting secretariat for the union.

She described the donation as a significant gesture from ManRoy, saying, “It’s a very big feat that our partners, ManRoy, imagined and kept it quiet. So, we pray that the bus helps in every angle it’s supposed to, and that fuel money nor go be problem. So, we thank you all for coming.”

In his remarks, the Ovie of the Great Idjerhe Kingdom, HRM King Monday Obukohwo Whiskey, PhD, commended ManRoy Global Services and TANTITA Security Services for the donation.

The traditional ruler urged both companies to sustain their existing relationship and collaboration with the NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel.

Responding, the Chairman of the NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, Okakuro Akpokona Omafuaire, expressed appreciation to the managements of TANTITA and ManRoy for the gesture.

Omafuaire said the donation would significantly improve the capacity of members of the chapel to carry out their professional responsibilities.

“We are happy you have increased our propensity to do our jobs. Driving that vehicle alone everywhere is a campaign for TANTITA and ManRoy. We will drive it and use it to campaign for the company’s support everywhere,” he said.

He further thanked the two companies for their support, adding that the chapel was grateful for the gesture.

Omafuaire also appealed to the management of ManRoy to continue to keep its doors open to the union for further collaboration and partnership.

Earlier, Mr. Silver Ofugara welcomed members of the NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel and the traditional ruler to ManRoy’s office for the presentation.
