A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Hon. Obar Voke, has extended educational support to three schools in Ozoro, Isoko North Constituency 1, as part of efforts to promote academic development and support the 2027 House of Assembly ambition of his political associate, Engr. Maro Orobosa Ashaka.
The intervention, which targeted students and teachers, was aimed at encouraging academic excellence, providing essential learning materials and contributing to the development of education in the constituency.
The beneficiary schools were Bovi Primary and Secondary School, Olordo Primary School and Egburie Primary School, all in Ozoro.
During the programme, students who answered questions correctly were rewarded with tablets, while books, school bags and pens were distributed to support their academic activities. Teachers were also presented with umbrellas, particularly in view of the ongoing rainy season.
Speaking during the presentation, Voke explained that the initiative was not merely about distributing educational materials but also about engaging students and creating opportunities for learning.
He noted that the interaction provided an avenue to broaden the students’ knowledge, particularly in areas of civic awareness.
According to him, “Not all the students even know the name of their Governor, but at least many learned some things today. We gave out books. Aside from that, we gave teachers umbrellas. This is the rainy season. We also gave bags and pens. Those are the items we gave.”
Voke attributed the success of the initiative to God, stressing that the most important achievement was the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of the students and teachers.
…Head Teachers Commend Gesture
The head teachers of the three beneficiary schools commended Voke for the intervention, describing it as timely and beneficial to their respective school communities.
The Head Teacher of Bovi Primary and Secondary School, Ozoro, Mr. Okpowe Sunday, expressed appreciation for the gesture and prayed for God’s continued blessings upon Voke. He also wished Engr. Maro Orobosa Ashaka success in the 2027 general elections.
Similarly, the Head Teacher of Olordo Primary School, Ozoro, Mrs. Ekpulo Reosline, appreciated the educational materials provided to the students and teachers, describing the intervention as a welcome development.
The Head Teacher of Egburie Primary School, Ozoro, Mrs. Ubuara Ewomazeno, also thanked Voke for remembering the school community, noting that the gesture would contribute positively to the learning environment.
The three head teachers particularly appreciated the provision of umbrellas to teachers, describing it as a thoughtful intervention, especially during the rainy season.
The programme ended with appreciation from the school authorities, teachers and students.
Voke, who reaffirmed his commitment to supporting educational initiatives in Isoko North Constituency 1, said the intervention was part of his efforts to contribute to the development of the area.
The gesture further demonstrated his political support for Engr. Maro Orobosa Ashaka, who is seeking the APC ticket to contest the Delta State House of Assembly seat for Isoko North Constituency 1 in the 2027 general elections.
